Although there is still a week left of this year I feel this is a good time to summarise some good points about 2009.
As far as media is concerned some extraordinarily good films were released; Avatar, Terminator Salvation, Watchmen, District 9, and Bruno.
Some decent music was released; White Lies - To Lose My Life, Sonic Youth - The Eternal, Placebo - Battle For The Sun, Morrissey - Years of Refusal, Jarvis Cocker - Further Complications, The Horrors - Primary Colours, Editors - In This Light and on This Evening, Peter Docherty - Grace/Wastelands, The Big Pink - A Brief History of Love, and Bat For Lashes - Two Suns.
As far as I recall I haven't read a book during 2009 that was released in 2009.
On an extremely positive note; January will see the last ever celebrity Big Brother to be shown on Channel 4. Better late than never for this filth-encrusted hollow shell of a concept to drag its loathsome self off our screens and out of the public conciousness.
